When things don’t go the way we want, we can either say, “Oh well, it just wasn’t meant to be”.
Or we get angry that we didn’t get what we want.
But is fate real?
When our time is up, our time is up or can we cheat death?
But if we can cheat death what are we cheating when death is the inescapable truth to all of us. No matter where we go or what we do we all face the reality of death.
But what is fate and can we control our fate?
I hear people say things like “I gained 100 pounds, I guess it’s just fate.”
What? Did you gain 100 pounds and your blaming fate?
That’s like people who say they have big bones or say they just can’t help themselves, it’s just who they are.
Sorry, but I call bullshit.
We all have choices and yes there is fate.
When your time is up and you have to deal with that reality.
As I’m writing this I know tonight could be my last night on this planet.
How do I feel about that?
I feel good I have lived a full life but still have things I want to achieve. My appendix burst last year and I went into septic shock. The doctor said I had a 50/50 chance of making it through the surgery.
When I was laying on the hospital bed alone before the sedation meds kicked in, the doctor asked me if I was ok.
I was honest and said “Yeah. I have had a great life full of adventure and I hope I still have some more stories to tell.”
Don’t live in regret, take charge of your life and the choices you make now. Don’t blame fate when you fail or make bad choices.
It doesn’t work like that.
