You have two choices, you can be yourself or you can be someone else.
It really is that simple. You can be yourself and live a life of freedom, creativity and passion. Or, will you just do what everyone wants you to do and be and lose your real identity?
It isn’t easy to speak up and be true to who you are.
Most people are afraid to truly speak their minds and follow what their gut tells them.
Following your gut takes guts while being a sheep doesn’t take any guts at all. Now, that’s not to say that all guidance is wrong.
Yes, there are some people who have been told who to be and what to do and have excelled because of that guidance. Tiger Woods was made to play golf and he became one of the greatest of all time.
But, without his Dad pushing him it is quite possible that he may have taken a completely different path.
Is Tiger Woods happy?
I don’t know, only he knows.
If you are slamming down liquor or pills, gambling your hard-earned money away, getting lap dancers late at night while your wife and kids are in bed and you are lying about yet another sales meeting, can you look in the mirror and honestly say you are happy and on the right track?
On the other hand, if you feel like the clown who puts on the happy face but deep down wants to take hostages while you wait for your morning coffee, you might need to take a look at who you are and why you have made the choices you have made in your life.
Live your life, paint your masterpiece, make your movie.
It is your life and your script. Write it and paint it the way you want.
Live, Love and Matter.
